Ubisoft was forced to delay the launch of its free-to-play first-person shooter XDefiant. The game did not pass certification tests from Microsoft and Sony. Without them, not a single game will be released on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
We were originally supposed to play the full version of XDefiant this summer. According to executive producer Mark Rubin, it now looks like the film will be released in late September, no later than late October of this year. It depends on when and under what conditions the game will be certified..
It was submitted to Microsoft and Sony at the end of July, but learned in mid-August that it did not go through. If it passes without conditions on the second attempt, it will be launched in mid-to-late September. But if it passes in a conditional state, then Ubisoft will have to prepare a day one patch that takes into account the shortcomings, which will mean a delay to early/mid-October.
Fortunately, the problem is not in the gameplay, but non-compliance with the rules. They refer to the systems and overall experience that Microsoft and Sony expect from games on their platforms. He cited trophy and achievement management as an example.
XDefiant was originally named Tom Clancy’s, but Ubisoft later shortened the name, but still it’s a 6v6 shooterwhich uses environments and characters from other Tom Clancy games, including The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell.
According to earlier information, the game will be released on PC and the last two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles, with PS4 and Xbox One coming later. But that could change with this expansion.
