In addition to its own projects, Quantic Dream has recently begun to focus on the games of independent development teams, which it helps as a publisher. The first sign in this direction was the director’s cut of the game Sea of Solitude for Nintendo Switch, released in 2021. Now the French company, in collaboration with Developers from Parallel Studio brings Under The Waves to market.
This is a story-driven adventure game in which you will go under the surface of the North Sea as Stan the diver. In terms of styling, the authors were inspired by the techno-futuristic version of the 70s of the 20th century, which was mainly influenced by the appearance of underwater bases, diving equipment and their own submarine. The plot of the game revolves around mental state of the protagonistwho has to overcome loss and separation deep in the depths of the sea. The gameplay is based on exploring the environment and solving various problems that life under water provides.
It’s under the waves available from today on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game is available with official Czech localization as subtitles.
