Game developers Brian Fargo and Nolan Bushnell announced in 2018 creating your own digital store called Robot Cache, which, according to them at the time, should compete with Steam in the future. Now the company’s management is trying to launch the first major marketing campaign to attract a large group of players to their store. In collaboration with inXile Entertainment and AMD, who recently entered into a marketing partnership with Robot Cache, the digital store giving away Torment: Tides of Numenera for free.
This is a story-driven RPG game released in 2016 by said studio inXile Entertainment. The game is currently available on Steam for €30, so it’s a tempting offer among other freebies. However, the game must be activated directly on Robot Cache, where you you need to create a new account or link to this already existing platform, such as Steam. The Robot Cache store itself is built on the blockchain, which, for example, allows you to resell already purchased games like classic physical editions. However, it is not yet clear whether this bold concept will be successful.
