While Cities: Skylines is much better and more popular than the last SimCity, there is one more thing that the Maxis developers have done better. We are talking about convenient mechanics that will make the process of creating and improving the city more efficient and faster.

So far, he’s only been seen in a gameplay trailer, the creators haven’t bragged about it yet, but it seems that in Cities: Horizons 2 there will be water pipes under the road. It’s the blue color next to the road icon. On the contrary, the orange color is surprising. This may indicate inclusion of seasonswhen the city needs to be heated. Then more brown under the road. Maybe it’s about power line.

In any case, it seems like a simplification, we will no longer create roads and water supply separately. Instead, we will build everything with a single mouse (or gamepad) movement. We’ll see when Colossal Order shares this news. After all, Cities: Skylines 2 is due out this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be available on Game Pass on the same day.
