Alan Wake 2 revealed in first gameplay footage

At the recent PlayStation Showcase event, Finnish studio Remedy surprised us with the first full-length survival horror trailer. Alan Wake 2. They later announced that we would also see the first full gameplay footage at the start of Summer Game Fest. And so it happened.

The new demo features a walkthrough in which we play as Agent Saga Anderson, who is one of the game’s two playable heroes (the other, of course, is Alan Wake himself). But if you think we’re in for something like Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, in which Max himself and femme fatale Mona Sax share the attention of players as playable characters on an action-packed ride, so forget it. The gameplay proves it. this time we are waiting for a really dark, oppressive case, which is even scarier and slower than the first time. Alan Wake since 2010.

Looks like autumn is upon us fewer enemies that can withstand more. On the other hand, it seems that the player can tolerate more. At least in terms of durability. In the first part, Alan suffocated after just a few steps, but recently in an interview with Gamespot, the developers from Remedy confirmed that now Alan can take more than a few steps without being out of breath at all. And while Saga doesn’t perform as well in the demo, the UI suggests it will.

At the end of the video, it is shown that like a saga, we can investigate and collect some evidence. In the end, we will play as an FBI agent who is on the trail of the missing agent Robert Nightingale from the first part, so it is quite logical that there is more detective work ahead of us. And since the video shows Saga in the forest around the town of Bright Falls, naturally, there is also some kind of animal with horns. This, in turn, implies that there will be no shortage of scarecrows during the game.

Alan Wake 2 coming out October 17/October 2023 on PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, digital only. The game is published by Epic Games Publishing on PC and consoles.
