Already today, the adventure game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum from the creators of Daedalic Entertainment, which has looked somewhat controversial since its inception, has been released on PC and Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Playstation 5.
What ratings does the novelty receive from foreign reviewers? You can find the answer below.

Gollum seems like a game that would have had problems even ten years ago because the basic concept of stealth and climbing just isn’t great and left me more frustrated than motivated.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a game to be commended for Daedalic’s attempt to tell a completely original story in Middle-earth by fusing stealth and platforming mechanics, but it fails in almost every way: inaccurate controls, terrible AI, boring story, outdated level design and graphics last generation.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum was a bad idea on paper, and now that we can play it, it’s even worse. The plot is uninteresting and boring, and the game design seems too old to be acceptable in 2023.

Unfortunately, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum stands out the most when Gollum engages in dialogue with secondary characters.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum suffers from technical and gameplay issues that overshadow the great story behind this work.

Unfortunately, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is not the favorite we were looking for. Gollum’s thoughts are funny but not outstanding in a game overloaded with terrible platforming sections and dated visuals. The acting, along with a stellar soundtrack, adds to the promising experience, but there’s no real reason to play this game unless you’re into retro platforming or just love Gollum.

Gollum is arguably the worst playset in the famous world, just as repulsive and unbalanced as the protagonist himself. The idea was really good, and you can see that the developers know and understand the template, but the game they created offers outdated graphics, frustrating platforming, a lot of glitches and primitive stealth mechanics.

There are a lot of good ideas in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, but unfortunately they are held back by outdated graphics, hard and tight controls, endless bugs, glitches and crashes, and gameplay features that fall short of its lofty ambitions. King Théoden said it best: “Here you have no power.”

In the thirteen hours I’ve spent playing this game, it’s hard for me to recall any positive experience. Gollum is boring and dated, and Lord of the Rings fans deserve better.

Well done
Due to its outdated design, Gollum is a slow and boring Middle-earth adventure that even the most hardcore LOTR fans will not enjoy.

The Lord of the Rings: Like the main character, Gollum is ugly, mutilated and infested with insects.

Gollum is a broken game. There is hardly anything positive to see in what can be described as a colossal missed opportunity. There’s some serious potential in a linear single-player game like The Lord of the Rings, but with decidedly outdated level design, clunky controls, a serious lack of polish, bland and lackluster graphics, and a dull story, Gollum misses the mark completely. As big fans of books, movies, and games, we regret that there is nothing worthwhile about this experience.
