Ubisoft offered to his Finnish studio RedLynx a restructuring plan that will see the team refocus on the “small screen.” Until now, developers have paid not only specialists in mobile games, but also successful authors of browser games and games for computers and consoles. They are known, for example, from the racing series Tests.

Management will consult with the team about the proposal before making changes. If RedLynx does not avoid layoffs, it will lose up to 60 employees in production and administrative positions. On the other hand, people working on Snowdrop’s internal engine should not be at risk. The team will then focus on developing a couple of mobile games.

“This proposal reflects the difficult decisions we may have to make and comes after careful consideration. “We recognize the gravity of this announcement and consider the impact it may have on individuals and teams,” says the studio’s chief operating officer. Celine Pasoula.

“Despite these proposed changes, we are confident that RedLynx will continue to play a significant role in Ubisoft’s future, supporting the technical excellence of mobile devices and strengthening the capabilities of cross-platform and multi-platform solutions for the small screen,” he adds.
