Lord of the Rings: Gollum shows unexpectedly high hardware requirements

Developer Daedalic Entertainment announced a few days ago that the long-running stealth action game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has reached the golden stage. At the same time, pre-orders started. After that, they now reach us. Hardware requirements for PC versionwhich may surprise some players.

Looking at the gameplay footage, it’s clear that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum isn’t among the most graphically advanced games out there. However, the game will require a relatively powerful setup, especially for higher detail.

In the recommended requirements you will find, for example, Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics card coupled with 32 GB of RAM. At a minimum, the authors claim the card is at the level of Nvidia RTX 2060.

Minimum requirements (1080p resolution, medium detail, ray tracing disabled)

  • Operating system: Windows 10/11 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600z
  • Memory size: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphic card: Nvidia GTX 1080 or Nvidia RTX 2060
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • HDD: 45 GB of free space

Recommended requirements (1440p resolution, fine details, ray tracing enabled)

  • Operating system: Windows 10/11 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • Memory size: 32 GB RAM
  • Graphic card: Nvidia RTX 3080 (with DLSS enabled)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • HDD: 45 GB of free space

Lord of the Rings: Gollum coming out May 25 on PC (Steam) and PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game will also be released later on the Nintendo Switch.
