Mikami was the head of development for The Evil Within and executive producer of three other projects. The departure was announced by the senior vice president of Bethesda Softworks Todd Vaughn.

The reasons for Mikami’s departure were not stated in the email. But perhaps this is due to the change in direction of Tango Gameworks when Hi-Fi Rush is their most successful project to date..

Mikami, 57, is not expected to retire yet. But we have yet to wait for information about his future. He will likely lead a new team in Japan and return to survival horror.
