Valve has moved a new experiment to the stage of public testing in the Steam Labs a hub focused on additional content for games you already own.
In the new hub, you’ll find a customized list of additional content for games you’ve already purchased. The system is supposed to prioritize topics you’ve played recently or the ones you’ve played the most.
“Missed a DLC release for your favorite game? How should you know? That’s it! But don’t worry, with DLC Center you can easily find all the content available and get the most out of your games. Whether it’s individual character skins, content packs, new game modes, or massive expansions, you’re sure to find something to your liking.” says Valve.
So far, Valve has focused on directing players to new games for purchase at various hubs. The latest experiment is such a welcome change.
At the very top, you will find popular DLCs for your games. Chapter highlights the most popular game DLCs in your library. This section is not about when you last played the main game, but how well certain DLCs are selling.
Most important, however, is the section just below that lists either your recently played games or (after toggling the sort option) your most played games. However, regardless of the order, available content that you don’t currently own is displayed for each game.
Recently Played – Games are sorted simply by when you last played them, from most recent to most recent.
Most Popular – Games sorted by how much time you’ve spent in them over the past few years. The more hours, the higher the game in the list. As soon as the games “dry out”, the most popular ones from the distant past will begin to be displayed.
