Petr Tikhachek sent us with the blessing of the Ukrainian studio Frogwares screenshots from the Czech version of the adventure detective game Sherlock Holmes: Awakening, which will be released in the first quarter of this year on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Czech subtitles will be available on all platforms.
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a remake of 2006’s Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, the first fully 3D game in Frogwares history.
The images are taken from the very introduction of the first chapter, located on Baker Street in Londonso from the third chapter, which takes place in the Swiss sanatorium U černé protéže and the introductory part of which is the contents of the demo, which is available to supporters of the game on Kickstarter from Friday.
Czech localization took place from July to December 2022, including testing. “The remake has about twice as much text as the original, which doesn’t necessarily mean the game is twice as big, but indicates significant changes the remake will bring.” Petr Tikhacek reports.
“When the developers and I agreed on localization, I pulled a translation of the original 16-year-old game from a backup disk, thinking that this would make my job much easier. However, I was misled by the very first portion of the texts, which are completely rewritten compared to the original. After all, soon you will be able to see for yourself that, apart from the main plot, there is no stone left unturned in the game.” he added.
Sherlock Holmes: Awakened is a cross between Lovecraft and Sherlock Holmes. In the game you will dive deep into the bottomless waters of Cthulhu mythology. You have to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances associated with a dark sect that worships an ancient god. If you don’t stop their crazy plans… you and the world will face unimaginable consequences.
It is in this story that Sherlock learns what real fear is. A rational person will face an otherworldly being whose existence defies any logic. The desire to uncover the truth will lead Sherlock to the very brink of insanity. This is the only story of his that Watson never published.
Also, in this story, set in 1882, you will learn how Sherlock and John, who at the time were just roommates, became a world famous detective duo.
