It’s too early for details. What is certain is that this will be a single-player game that will appear on PC and consoles. So this is not MechWarrior Online 2, not a successor to MechWarrior Online, and not a PvP game.

“Think of it more like MechWarrior 5, but like a standalone game, a standalone product. So this is probably an exclusive announcement for you, but for now, that’s all I’ll tell you.” Russ Bullock stated in an interview.

The official launch of the game should take place sometime in 2023. Current plans are summer or autumn this year.

So you can expect a single player story campaign as well as co-op.

Recall that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries was released in 2019 as an exclusive for the Epic Games Store. It expanded to Steam, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in May 2021 before arriving on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in September of that year.
