The game will no longer support combat add-ons that gave players an advantage in battle. The goal is to unify the gaming experience.
Blizzard decided to try additional additions (mods) to help in combat, such as Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigswhich has helped players predict boss attacks or coordinate raids over the years. New version of the game World of Warcraft: Midnight I’ll change the API (modification interface) to disable these crutches. Only visual modifications that do not violate the integrity of the battle will remain available.
Ion Hazikostas explained that the purpose of addons is to “not provide an objective advantage” over players using the base interface. At the same time, Blizzard plans to rework the mechanics so that players have enough visual and audio cues to react even without external assistance.
However, this change raises concerns about availability. Many players use addons precisely because of visual or other limitations. Hazikostas admitted that if the game is not accessible enough without audio prompts, Blizzard is considering adding a built-in deduction even to the basic user interface.
Extension Midnight so they promise not only new stories, but also changes in common activities, such as fighting.
