The Last Guardian writers tease new year announcement

Japanese team Genetic Engineering on the occasion of the celebration of the new calendar year, thanks the players for their support and at the same time teases the announcement of a new game in 2023. “Finally a year in which we have something to talk about! Genetic Engineering has only one game behind him – Last Guardian. But the studio was created around the designer Fumita Ueda and parts of other staff of the original Team Ikowhat is behind the very successful double titles Iko and shadow of the colossus. Ueda says the new game won’t be a sequel to The Last Guardian, but it’s likely that the developers will keep their famous minimalism.

The upcoming novelty should also match the team’s previous sizing efforts. “What we are doing now is not like an indie game. We’re trying to do something at the level of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian,” says Ueda.
