Ubisoft officially returns to Steam

In early November, we informed you about a Steam database leak that suggested that the French publisher might be returning to the platform after more than three years. So far, the last Ubisoft game released on Steam was Trials Rising from February 2019. Since then, PC versions of Ubisoft games have only been released on the Epic Games Store and their own Ubisoft Connect platform.

However, company representatives have now confirmed in an interview with British Eurogamer that they do plan to release at least some of their games on Steam again. So far they have been three titles officially confirmed in the form of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Anno 1800 and Roller Champions.

However, it is likely that more games will follow this trio. Since Ubisoft has so far refused to confirm whether the return to Steam will apply to all future games, we cannot rule out possible temporary exclusive rights for the Epic Games Store or the Ubisoft Connect store. But still this is a clearly visible reversaland Ubisoft followed others back on Steam in the form of EA and Activision.

The French publisher, on the other hand, has not stopped its efforts to promote its Ubisoft Connect, which is currently going through a big discount promotion.
