Shuhei Yoshida to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Shuhei Yoshida will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Game Conference in Bilbao, Spain, formerly known as the Fun & Serious Game Festival. He will receive the award on November 19 this year.

Shuhei Yoshida was born in 1964 and joined Sony Corporation in April 1986 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kyoto University.

In 1993, he received his MBA from UCLA, and in the same year he was one of the original contributors to the PlayStation project. He ran the licensing program and then he was also involved in the development of successful gamesincluding Gran Turismo, Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, Jak and Daxter, SOCOM US Navy SEALs and ATV Offroad Fury.

In 2008, Yoshida became President of SCE Worldwide Studios (today PlayStation Studios) and held this position until 2019. Thus, he was the head of PlayStation Studios in the days of the greatest glory of the Japanese company.

Shuhei Yoshida today manages the PlayStation Indiesoversees investment in indie games and helps bring them to the fore on PlayStation consoles.
