Phil Spencer previously announced that he wants to meet developers from Activision, Blizzard and King to discuss games they would like to work on. Now he developed the idea for Wired magazine.
At the moment, he can’t make any decisions as Microsoft’s nearly $70 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard must first be approved by a regulatory panel.
Xbox boss he is excited about the idea of discussing with individual teams their desires and capabilities. In other words, Activision Blizzard will no longer have to focus solely on Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Diablo after Microsoft took over, but will return to their old but still significant games. Spencer called the opportunity exciting.
“Not just StarCraft. Warcraft is also part of Blizzard’s great RTS heritage. I don’t have specific plans for today because they can’t work with development teams yet. But StarCraft has become a defining moment in the gaming industry in terms of esports, in terms of real-time strategy on consoles, and in terms of storytelling in the real-time strategy genre.” Spencer said.

Many companies do not see big profits in real time strategies. But Microsoft has risen Age of Empires, prepared remakes and even a completely new fourth part. He recently announced the return of the era of mythology as the definitive edition of the first volume, with improved graphics, features, and other elements.
