The authors of STALKER 2 are moving to the Czech Republic

Ukrainian developers from GSC game world must complete the upcoming game STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl in Prague. Part of the team must move to the Czech capital due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. This is reported by game journalist Pavel Dobrovsky on his Twitter.

Vortex magazine was able to verify that representatives of the Ukrainian studio were in contact with Association of Czech Game Developers. “I can confirm that the GSC studio contacted the Association at the beginning of last week, saying that they are looking at the Czech Republic and neighboring countries. They needed help from us on legal and labor issues,” said Vortex, chairman of the association. Pavel Barak.

The authors of Stalker also communicated with Brno developers from Ashbourne Games as well as CBE Software because Game cluster, which brings together game developers from Brno and the surrounding area. However, in the end, according to Vortex’s anonymous sources, they chose Prague. They currently have to apply for a business in the Czech Republic. In addition, GSC Game World should not be the only Ukrainian company that has chosen the Czech Republic for its work.

About a week ago, Ukrainian developers confirmed that they were editing the subtitle of the future game. Chernobyl in the title changes to Chernobylbring transcription in English closer to Ukrainian pronunciation instead of Russian.

In January, the game was moved from its original release date of April 28 to December 8. The developers have not yet confirmed another delay, but we can expect Stalker to arrive due to the need to interrupt development a little later. The title is for PC and Xbox Series, and will also go straight to the Game Pass subscription service.
