There is no option for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players to turn off cross-platform play on Xbox and PC.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out, and players are gradually resigning themselves to the shortcomings of the recently released work. One of the most pressing concerns, at least for owners of the game on PC and Xbox consoles, is the fact that they don’t have the option to turn off crossplay (playing with players from other platforms). What’s interesting about this whole situation is that PlayStation owners can turn this feature on and off as they see fit, allowing them to avoid playing against both people with a mouse and against cheaters, which are now almost non-existent on PC. Also quite strange is the fact that the feature cannot be disabled on PC, whose users have to deal with the aiming that console owners go into battle with.

However, the problem of being unable to disable crossplay that plagues Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is not new to the series. You can also meet her in Call of Duty: Warzone, where Xbox players must have crossplay enabled at the start of a match, and PlayStation console owners can turn it off without restrictions. On Xbox, you will only be able to achieve a shutdown at the cost of various unpleasant effects, which include, for example, a longer timeout for the game. Activision has previously been approached by The Verge magazine about these shortcomings, but has not yet responded to the situation.
