Today, Konami held a special presentation of the Silent Hill series. Things did not go as planned, the entire video was released (apparently by mistake) all at once, and not as a premiere. In any case, we got what all the fans wanted so much. Several new projects from the popular survival horror saga.
Remake of Silent Hill 2
From the very beginning, the assumptions were confirmed, the second part will indeed receive a remake. Polish studio will take care of it Team Blueberbut veterans from Team Silent also participate as an artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka.
We learned more details from the PS blog. The remake offers more than the original shoulder camera and of course significantly better graphics. Developers use Unreal Engine 5using, for example, Lumen technology for dynamic lighting or Nanite, which in turn makes the world and environment more complex. Music and sound in general have also undergone a transformation.
The game will use PS5 3D audio and of course the controller function Double meaning, i.e. haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The developers also promise that you will be able to enjoy the game thanks to a fast SSD. no loading screens.
The remake of Silent Hill 2 is aimed at PC and PlayStation 5where will exclusive for 12 months. We don’t know a release date yet.
Anyway, the game already has a Steam page where you can add it to your wishlist. At the same time, the minimum and recommended requirements were identified, which are really extremely high. For medium detail, FullHD resolution, and 60 FPS only, you’ll need at least a GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT.
Silent Hill: Townfall
The next game has also been rumored before, a title published by Annapurna, a company that specializes in art games.
Silent Hill, subtitled Townfall, is being developed by the studio for them. No codebehind the games Observation and Stories Untold. So far, only a short teaser is available, and we also do not know the release date.
Return to Silent Hill
Also in development is a new film directed by Christoph Gans, who also directed the first film based on the Silent Hill series. Hans considers himself a big fan of these survival horror films and decided to try to bring them to the screen again. The film is still in pre-production and filming has not started yet. Silent Hill: Ascension
Initially, we thought that Ascension would be a full-fledged new part, but in the end it was not at all. This is about interactive series, in which the audience will be able to influence the decisions of the characters. Each one is final and cannot be changed.
Several studios are working on the project – Genvid, Bad Robot, Behavior and DJ2. The director is JJ Abrams, who has, for example, Star Trek or Star Wars. Episode VII and IX.
The official site is already available and we even know the year of release – 2023.
Silent Hill f
Finally, we learned about the mysterious game with the subtitle “f”. This is probably the one we knew until now under the name Sakura. The action takes place in 1960s Japan. Behind this story is a Japanese writer known as Ryukishi07. But we do not know more information yet, and the teaser itself will probably tell you the most.
