After confirming several rounds of Silent Hill rumours, Konami has now confirmed that Polish studio Bloober Team, developers of horror games such as Layers of Fear and The Medium, are developing a new version of Silent Hill 2.
Although Silent Hill 2 is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console, Konami has confirmed that it will also be available on PC. The Steam store page is now available.

The presentation also included the announcement of Silent Hill: Townfall, a new game in development from Annapurna Interactive and No Code, horror and puzzle developers Stories Untold, and the sci-fi thriller Observation.
Another Silent Hill movie is in development, with the 2006 film’s director Christoph Gans at the helm. In the presentation, Hans explains that he wants Silent Hill 2 to stay true to its source material while surprising viewers with new takes on the design and images of the iconic creatures.
Silent Hill Ascension is a cross between a movie and a game. According to Konami, it is an interactive experience that will include live performances in which the audience can help decide the fate of the characters and the world, forever changing the world of Silent Hill. Ascension will be released in 2023.
Finally, the presentation ended with the announcement of another new game in the series called Silent Hill f. The trailer for this game featured a schoolgirl running through a village in the Japanese countryside as the menacing tendrils of a red fungus entangled her arms and legs. It’s a shocking piece of footage that culminates in a shot reminiscent of the final scene from Midsommar, although the Silent Hill version is much darker and creepier.
After a long wait, Silent Hill fans suddenly have a lot of exciting things going on.
