A Plague Tale: Requiem will reportedly only run at 30fps on consoles.

We wrote on Saturday that the highly anticipated Gotham Knights game will only be playable at 30fps on consoles, and the developers won’t be offering any kind of performance mode as is common these days. They reasoned that optimizing the game on the Xbox Series S would be too difficult. Nevertheless, this is a very strange decision, because initially the game was supposed to be released on the latest generation of consoles.

Unfortunately, Gotham Knights isn’t the only game with these issues. Spanish player eXtas1s has tweeted a screenshot of the upcoming action-adventure A Plague Tale: Requiem, which shows that there is no mode to select in the settings. The game is also reported to only run at 30fps on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On ResetEra, one of the users claims that he has already played this game, and although it is not locked to 30fps, it does not reach 60fps and has problems in parts where there are a lot of rats or fire.

Of course, the players are not happy. After all, the ability to choose has recently become the standard, and this is more like a step back. What do you say about it?

A Plague Tale: Requiem launches October 18 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and cloud-based on Nintendo Switch.
