Player to lose 6,000 hours of progress in Red Dead Redemption 2 due to Google Stadia shutdown

After Google announced that Stadia, the game streaming service, is shutting down on January 18, there has been a wave of outrage. Not only did the staff find out about it 45 minutes before the shutdown was announced, but in addition, all progress made by players in the game will be erased. Google Store purchases will be refunded, and indie game developers complained on Twitter that the shutdown affected their development and no one knew about it.

But developers aren’t the only ones complaining. There are players who don’t like it. One of the Red Dead Redemption 2 players, itsColourTV, tweeted this:

No, you really don’t understand how incredibly angry I am.

He also attached a photo of his progress in the aforementioned RDR2 to the post. He recorded almost six thousand hours, exactly 5908 hours. He added an explanation that he would lose everything because Google was shutting down Stadia. At the same time, he’s begging the developers at Rockstar Games, the studio behind Red Dead Redemption 2, to let him drag his data somewhere else. He doesn’t want to lose his progress.

The players stand behind the user and mention that the original developers need to do something. And do you think you should?
