Yes you read the title correctly, former UK Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn was pictured playing a Doom mod called Thatcher’s Techbase which challenges you to assassinate former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher who rose from among the dead.

After the Doom mod was released last year, creator Jim Purvis announced on Twitter that Techbase’s arcade version of Thatcher would be showcased at The World Transformed, an annual festival that aims to “rekindle the left’s presence in the Labor Party conference” and unite radicals in politics, art and culture.

The thread shows the build of a Doom mod locker, followed by photos of Corbin playing the game, captioned “loved the game” by Purvis (via indy100). Corbin isn’t the only public figure to interact with Thatcher’s tech base, as Doom creator John Romero even decided to give Doom mode a try as well.

The world has heard a mysterious broadcast, a threat of revenge in the sinister voice of the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher. Faced with the return of one of humanity’s greatest threats, you are left with no choice but to travel to the tenth circle of hell: the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and explore the bastion of the underworld known only as…Thatcher’s tech base. ”.

World Transformed was also run in association with Living Rent, which works to secure the future of tenants’ rights in Scotland. You can read more about Thatcher’s Techbase Doom mod and play it here.
