Former head of PlayStaion Studios (formerly known as SIE Worldwide Studios) Sean Leiden becomes strategic advisor to Chinese publisher tencent. He announced this in his profile on the professional network LinkedIn.
“In this new role, I look forward to advising, assisting and supporting the Tencent team as they deepen their activities and commitment in an industry to which I have dedicated most of my career. (…) I am happy to continue my studies and thank Tencent for this opportunity,” Leiden wrote.
Sean Leiden he has been with Sony since 1996 and has held several senior positions, mostly in the company’s gaming division. PlayStation was in the lead from 2014 to October 2019.
Chinese tencent does not require large investments in both Asian and Western companies. He recently acquired a 16% stake in FromSoftware and is building his influence at Ubisoft, for example. At the beginning of the year, he bought the authors of King’s Bounty, and most recently acquired a minority stake in Triternion, the developer of Mordhau.
