The Elden Ring board game has been announced and will turn one of the best RPGs developed by FromSoftware into a tactile adventure to Tarnished in single player or against the bosses and enemies of the Elden Ring with up to four players.
Featuring diceless combat, the Elden Ring board game recreates the game’s “typically difficult fight” against bosses, from one of Godric’s soldiers to the biggest boss.
Developed by Steamforged, which has made board games based on the Resident Evil series and even Dark Souls, the game is coming to Kickstarter at some point in the future.
In fact, our sister site Wargamer had an interview with the game’s lead designer, Sherwin Matthews, who said “it’s going to be as difficult as expected given the game’s intimidating reputation.”
“Elden Ring’s vast open world and sense of exploration were fundamental to our game design and development,” adds Sherwin.
We’re still not quite sure how the Elden Ring board game will pan out, but judging by Steamforged’s Dark Souls board game, we can expect some great miniatures, finely transposed gameplay mechanics, and a downright fiendish boss. fights
“Our mission has always been to create authentic tabletop adaptations that capture the essence of what fans know and love about this intellectual property,” adds Mat Hart, CEO of Steamforged. “Fans should expect a richly implemented, dark tabletop world filled with mystery and danger, with satisfying combat and rewarding exploration. Get ready to lose hours in this game and enjoy.”
A release date for the Elden Ring board game hasn’t been announced yet, but you can stay up to date on the game’s new Kickstarter page and official announcement page.
