Brawler forcefully returns via eShop.

That being said, one of the many announcements Nintendo Direct has left us this week is the Switch adaptation of the brawler Sifu, which premiered on other platforms last February and was hugely popular at the time. The hybrid version will be released on November 8, but if you’re interested in getting it now, you can do it today via the eShop.

For those less familiar with the plot, Sifu is a martial arts game with a rather curious age mechanic: our hero will inevitably fall in battle as he fights to avenge his father’s death. In doing so, he returns to the action with new fighting techniques to retry his older and weaker but also more disciplined and bloody campaign.

Our colleague Toni Piedrabuena took the opportunity to analyze Sifu in its original version, saying that “the combat system is excellent in attack and defense, offering great challenges throughout its enormous levels. […] It would be memorable if he could come up with a more charismatic story and characters and a more catchy soundtrack.” Keep in mind that if you can complete it in one go, the game is pretty short, but that probably won’t happen.

The Sloclap title is also available on PlayStation consoles and PC via the Epic Games Store, as we said. There’s also a collector’s version if you prefer this alternative.
