Starfinder: Afterlight wants to be a cosmic Baldur’s Gate 3

New Sci-Fi CRPG Starfinder: Afterglow (developed in collaboration with Paizo Publishing) promises to reinvent board games in digital format — the Epictellers team says they’re hanging out in the footsteps of Baldur’s Gate 3reviving interest in the CRPG genre.

Players can expect seven (or more) classes to choose from, six interconnected companions with their own stories and moral dilemmas, and a target campaign length of 40 to 60 hours.

“We see that BG3 showed the audience that it makes sense to create games like this, but we are not a AAA studio – we are a small team,”

– says one of the creators. The game will use the action system is moving from Starfinder 2nd Edition, a combination of shooting, space magic and technology. The topic of planned modifications was also discussed.

It looks like we’re in for another big story-driven RPG with choices, worlds, and combat to get lost in for hundreds of hours. However, we will have to wait, at least, to see what the real result will be. by 2026 at the launch of early access.
