A new Genshin Impact leak shows several major developments that HoYoverse plans to add to the RPG with the version 3.1 update. It looks like four new events await players, along with two new bosses and the already announced Sumeru desert map expansion. At the moment, it seems to be the events of Song of Cups, Wind Chaser, Star Seeker’s Retreat, and Hyakunin Ikki.
The leak is actually a short music video created by a YouTuber named Ruri. In it, they scroll down to the game event summary page for 3.1. Along with the titles, the images also hint at what the events will entail.
The Song of Cups, for example, is probably the biggest event of the bunch, as it features a Christmas Fever meter similar to the one featured for the annual Lantern Rite. Holiday Rush counters typically indicate that the event consists of several small tasks or mini-games that must be completed in order to progress and earn rewards. There is also an “Event Story” tab, which suggests which famous people will appear in the event story. If the 3.1 leaks above are correct, Venti and Yula should show up.
Wind Chaser’s description mentions a mysterious new area, so it could be some sort of test of combat. However, “chasing the wind” implies that the gliders will definitely be used in some way. On the other hand, Star-Seeker’s Sojourn gives the impression that it will focus on exploring Sumeru due to the mention of outdoor adventures.
Finally, Hyakunin Ikki is a throwback event that challenges players to use different pairs of characters to complete combat missions, which is why most fans remember this event.
As for the bosses, it seems that two enemies of ruin are approaching: the Dragon of Eternal Motion and Matrix of Control. The latter looks completely new, while the former is similar to the flying enemies in the Ruins of Sumeru.
