The current Genshin Impact banners, Tighnari and Zhongli, had strong sales in the first week even though HoYoverse has already revealed three new attractive characters coming to the game in version 3.1. This is Zhongli’s fourth iteration and Tignari will be joining the standard banner in the next update, so it’s surprising to see so much money spent on the pair just before an update that brings much more limited content. .
Once again, GenshinLab used China App Store revenue data to give us an idea of that region’s sales figures for iOS devices. This data is put into useful charts that show the spending habits of a significant portion of the Genshin Impact player base. Tighnari and Zhongli’s revenue graph shows that these 3.0 banners are in the top half of other characters’ revenue.
Banners Tighnari and Zhongli earned around $13,961,126 / £12,088,729.59 in their first week. For reference, the first Raiden Shogun banner tops the list when it comes to first week sales, coming in at around $25,605,658 / £22,168,482.50.
Fans expected Tignari and Zhongli to earn significantly less as players already had plenty of opportunities to play as Zhongli, and Tignari will be available as a standard banner character for the foreseeable future alongside Mona, Jin, Diluc, Keqing, and Qiqi. Additionally, Collie, the new character featured in both banners, can be unlocked for free during the event.
These revenue figures are even more impressive because we know what is to come in Genshin Impact 3.1. Cyno, Nilou, and Candace join the roster, along with some unknown raised banners, making 3.1 likely to be even more profitable as players struggle to choose from all the available options.
