If you haven’t guessed from the many leaks, widespread insider reports, and even Amazon’s top listing for the game, Dead Island 2 is still a thing. eight – yes, eight – Years after the first (and excellent) trailer at E3 2014, we finally got a fresh look at Dead Island 2.
It took so long to wait for news of Dead Island 2 that even the upcoming Goat Simulator 3 pushed it with the Summer Game Fest trailer. But now that Deep Silver has finally shown us more, what have we learned about the next installment in the zombie-tattoo franchise?
First of all, we now have a release date for Dead Island 2. The game will launch on old and next-gen consoles, PC, and Stadia in February 2023, so the eight-year wait is over pretty quickly.
We also learned that Dead Island 2 will feature six playable characters and was “built from the ground up” by Dambuster Studios after the game was taken over.
We were also treated to some excellent bloody gameplay which proves that Dead Island 2 will certainly retain the essence of previous games in the series.
Nothing stood out as too revolutionary compared to the old Dead Islands, except that it looked pretty sharp graphically.
But fans of the series will be happy to know that this game exists, given the rather long period of silence.
