Bethesda created the Starfield Crimson Fleet faction based on the concept of space pirates, so if you’re considering Fallout 3’s raiders with a little more organization, you’re already halfway there. The Starfield factions are a key part of the space game, and the Crimson Raiders appear to be one of the main enemies.
Factions will become an integral part when Starfield’s release date finally rolls around, because depending on which one you work with or fight, those decisions will affect the entire game. what’s its purpose.
Who is the Crimson Fleet?
According to Bethesda’s Instagram, the Crimson Fleet “are pirates who will stop at nothing to take what is theirs.” space pirates. You got it right. The Crimson Fleet joins the ranks of seven known factions that have also been revealed, including one of the major Settled Systems governments, the Freestar Collective, members of the mega-corporation Ryujin Industries, and the main Constellation faction.
However, when it comes to the Crimson Fleet, they seem to be the “bad guys”, representing one of the enemy factions in the game, maybe not the only one. In Starfield, members of the Crimson Fleet can be identified by their Jolly Roger emblem.
Where is the Crimson Fleet based?
In the official description of the game, you can see how the player stumbles upon what appears to be the Crimson Fleet base on Crete, the moon of one of the Starfield planets. Whether this is the home of the faction remains uncertain. According to the trailer, this encounter with the Crimson Fleet marks a single dangerous interaction with the space pirates as they attack and showcases Starfield’s combat mechanics while they’re there.
During the developer video for Into the Starfield: The Journey Begins, avid gamers noticed a sharp screen revealing additional information about the location of the Crimson Fleet.
A message appears on the screen: “The Crimson Fleet has moved far beyond the Crixus system and has established itself in the Sagan, Cheyenne, Lunara, and Narion systems.” This potentially indicates where they are, although it definitely doesn’t answer the question of their homeworld or base of operations, if they have one at all.
Can you join the Crimson Fleet?
The most interesting thing about Crimson Fleet seems to be that depending on the choices you make with this faction, your gameplay will unfold along a certain path. In the second episode of the Made for Wanderers behind-the-scenes series, Bethesda’s Todd Howard says, “What we do with the pirates, the Crimson Fleet, they’re not just enemies. Let the player join them.”
So you decide to join the Crimson Fleet. But his decision does not stop there. Your interaction with a faction can be good or bad. Ally or sabotage. Adds Emil Pagliarulo, Design Director: “The great thing about Crimson Fleet is what if you’re a good person and you want to be a good player, but you don’t want to be the bad guy? and act like a space cop. So, [we] let yourself be a tough person and always play with the bad guys.
Ultimately, the player can decide how to interact with the Crimson Fleet and other factions found in Starfield. Unfortunately, according to the developers, once you join the Crimson Fleet, the only way out is death.
