Valorant Ratings remains one of the most controversial modes in Riot’s flagship FPS, with some claiming it works flawlessly while others claim it’s dominated by Pirates and Smurfs. Following a direct attack by an angry fan on the system’s design, Riot lead designer EuroMoar responded to claims that it was “totally and deliberately full of it.”
The Valorant leaderboard queue brings out the best people or the worst. Although it is one of the best FPS games, players often have to deal with duels and toxicity, as well as smurfs.
The last few on this list have come under intense scrutiny from Riot, who implemented a new Smurf detection system in Valorant patch 5.01. While this remains exclusive to North America for now, if it’s successful, the feature will likely be available worldwide.
After an in-depth look at Valorant’s Ranked Sphere by the Twitch streamer. SellerRiot has been criticized for not fixing the Smurfs issue, and lead designer EvreMoar apparently fell on the block.
In response to Wendler’s findings, one skeptical fan wrote: “EvrMoar is totally and intentionally obsessed with smurf accounts, whose job it is to downplay the game’s glaring problems.
“Anything Riot has to say about the Smurfs should be taken with a grain of salt, as Smurf counts are a positive KPI from Riot’s perspective,” they continue. “Imagine the cliff-sized drop in player accounts if they enforced some sort of authentication where you couldn’t create infinite accounts at will.”
EvrMoar was quick to respond (buckle up, it’s big). “First of all, I really want to make a call for something that I think ‘humanizes’ the shadow people (me and other troublemakers) that these posts seem to be asking for; they often see developers or employees as evil and shadowy characters trying to manipulate their community. Most rebels love games and play them all the time. While Riot employees don’t play games, they are passionate about what they do and want to work on amazing things that make people happy.
“Now I think healthy skepticism is appropriate. I understand that Riot is a huge studio and they have a lot of money and resources to implement whatever they think is necessary for the success of their games… I’m not saying “just because we’re passionate developers, we can.” I’m not wrong” – it is said that I should point out that Riot makes good games because they allow enthusiasts to be creative and create them.
“Going back to your comment, it’s not my ‘job’ to play down obvious problems,” he said. “In fact, Riot does not ask or require us to engage with the community in any way. No one really “looks” at my tweets or Reddit replies, and I do it in my spare time.
“Reddit and social media are not reliable metrics to measure the state of the game, as you pointed out later in a comment, we’ll probably use KPIs, so why should I hide glaring issues?” He has asked. “Besides, what problems am I hiding?
“I understand that none of this will make up for what you believe to be true, or groups you agree with say we’re lying, or for some reason ‘we only make decisions for the money,'” he says conclusively. A: It’s not my job to worry about these things. I care about an interesting ranked experience, not monetization.
As Riot continues to crack down on Smurfs in ranked games, be sure to use the best ranks in Valorant to give rule breakers a hell of a time.
