Riot Lead Game Designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison shared his plans for League of Legends patch 12.15, following LoL’s colossal 12.14 patch. The main focus of the designer’s post was to shed some light on the plans to improve Energy Champions with the next patch.
No details have been released, but Zed, Lee Sin, Akali, and Shen will all receive buffs tied to their energy costs. Since the durability upgrade, energy champions sometimes have trouble dealing sustained damage, since most champions can no longer be destroyed by a single combination of your abilities, this can make some energy killers useless to unless they are not very well fed.
Anyone who has played Akali knows how painful the first path can be; your ability cooldown doesn’t really matter when you can only use one Q with the energy you have. His passive was used to restore energy, but has since been removed, often leaving him in trouble early in the laning phase.
The Kennen appears to be in good shape in terms of power consumption, based on the preview. His passive stun restores 25 damage. energy, so taking damage in fights is more likely than others on the list. According to Leung-Harrison, the ninja yordle will still get the buff after 12:15, but it will be “something else”.
