If I had to list all the postponed games in the last two years, we would be here until tomorrow. Now it’s added to the long list Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The four-player co-op first-person shooter from the makers of Vermintide was due out September 13 this year on PC as well as Xbox Series X/S. But developers need more time.
The PC version of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will be re-released on November 30 this year. The Xbox Series X/S version will see the light of day shortly thereafter. When exactly, the Fatshark studio has not yet announced.
“Delaying a game is probably one of the most difficult decisions developers face, and we are unhappy with it. But we hope this is a testament to our dedication to taking the necessary time to bring you the best possible game.” says Martin Valund, CEO and co-founder of Fatshark Studio.
Valund reports that the creative team is happy with the game’s positive feedback, but needs to some more time to improve stability and performance. In addition, key systems must be fine-tuned to make Warhammer 40,000: Darktide the best possible game. It will help beta, testing should begin soon. You can register here.
You can play Warhammer 40,000: Darktide alone, but you’ll enjoy it best with four. The action takes place in the hive city Tertium on the planet Atoma Prime, where a cult of insane heretics – Persuasion – is trying to seize power. Players must resist Chaos and save the inhabitants of the planet from destruction.
