World of Warcraft has always had something of a love affair with lovable fictional dishes, and now the alpha release reveals a plethora of intriguing new WoW Dragonflight recipes, which we’ve listed in order of taste.
The MMORPG’s dedication to evocative food has even led to the creation of an official WoW cookbook, so any Mook can whip up a serving of Dragon’s Breath hot chili. Flight of Dragons will be no exception to this trend, as Blizzard has made it possible to try a variety of scented foods in its latest alpha build. Instead of giving you a dry list, though, we rank them all based on how delicious they sound.
1 – Treasure of Dragon’s Delights
Buff – 35 to your highest secondary stat.
We don’t know exactly what dragon food tastes like, but we imagine it’s fiery, like a dragon’s mouth, and that’s all we need to know, and the “buildup” suggests there will be plenty.
2 – Yousa’s Hearty Stew
Buff – 35 to your lowest secondary stat.
Is there anything better than a nice thick stew served with some fresh crusty bread? Aside from a bunch of spicy dragon food, we can’t think of anything.
3 – Fragrant Seafood Dish
Buff: 21 speeds and versatility.
“Aromatic” is rarely used for things that smell bad. “This container is so fragrant” just doesn’t get scanned. We can smell that delicious taste of the ocean right now. Mmmmm.
4 – Hot Seafood Medley
Buff – 21 Speed and Mastery.
“Sizzling” is reminiscent of a plate of food brought to your table over the stove in a trendy fish restaurant. We can try it from here. Although it would be better if it smelled good.
5 – Thrice-Hardened Mammoth
Buff: 12 stamina and 6 intelligence.
The mammoth is so good they seasoned it three times. Mammoth probably isn’t the most tender meat, but add enough spice to it and you can make the loot appetizing. There are probably too many.
6 – Roast Duck Delight
Buff: 12 stamina and 9 intelligence.
What’s so delicious about this duck? We may never know, but it sounds like a tasty treat. We’d order it at a restaurant on land, let alone a restaurant on Azeroth.
7 – Burning Fish Sticks
Buff – 21 speed and critical hit.
We hope that “sauce” refers to the flavor profile and not the energy level of this seafood dish.
8 – Braised buffalo breast
Buff: 12 resistance and 9 strength.
A healthy dish that is sure to fill the stomach, but won’t touch the taste buds.
9 – Scrambled eggs with basil
Buff: 12 resistance and 6 agility.
Scrambled eggs really are a product that needs a side dish, not toast or hash browns, they are right in the middle of the pack.
10 – Fish cake cooked in salt
Buff – 35 Mastery
It has the potential to be higher on the list, but very salty seafood can often be overwhelming.
11 – Charred Hornswog Fillets
Buff: 12 resistance and 6 agility.
“Charcoal” can mean “terribly overcooked” or “really nicely grilled,” so these steaks get an average rating.
12 – Great Blue Sea
Buff – 21 Versatility and Mastery
It’s most likely some kind of seafood chowder, but the name doesn’t really scream about edibility. Too many mysteries.
13 – Surprise of a moth
Buff – 35 Versatility
The “surprise” is discovering what a moth is when the waiter brings it to your table.
14 – Picnic by the river
Buff: 12 resistance and 9 agility.
Picnics are truly defined by the region. Eating an apple and a pack of eighth notes in a dragon hell seems like a bad experience.
15 – salted meat puree
Buff – 28 stamina
Yuck. Nope.
16 – Revenge, served cold
Buff: 21 critical hits and versatility.
Revenge feels good, but after 20 minutes you’re hungry again.
17. Thousand Bone Tongue Cutter
Buff – 21 critical hits and mastery
Thousand Bones used to be sold in cans without the bone, but most people didn’t want to buy a small container of brine. besides, oh
18 – A timely death
Polishing – 35 speeds
The name can refer to the meat you eat or to you in five minutes. In any case, no.
That’s the whole menu for now. For more information on the changes coming with the latest Dragonflight Alpha, check out our Hunter Change Spotlight or check out the addition of Hearthstone’s infamous villain.
