There’s no shortage of ways to make money in Stardew Valley, and if you’ve ever wondered how your hard-earned cash compares to the real world, you’re not alone. Reddit user Whind_Soull spent some time figuring out how much richer they are than everyone else in the game of life and what it takes to match the richest person in the world, and chose the real-life equivalents to climb .
Assuming a fixed exchange rate of $1/g, Whind_Soull estimates that Jeff Bezos’ net worth is the equivalent of 1,000 chests full of 999 Starfruit Wine stacks. However, simply focusing on valuables like diamonds would not be enough to ensure prosperity for the average farmer. By his calculations, filling each farm tile with chests containing stacks of 999 diamonds will leave him $35 billion short of the non-JojaMart leader.
This is where the math comes in. A greenhouse full of wine pressed fruit earns Whind_Soull $250,000 per week, while they can sell 80 Iridium Truffles for $100,000 per day. 320 farming tiles are dedicated to only the most valuable crops of the season, and the cave that spawns gems daily nets you an extra $250,000 per day, enough to spend all of your annual income in one fell swoop without worrying about money issues.
At this level, Whind_Soull says that they will be financially equal to Bezos in 4714 Stardew, assuming he stops making money (which he obviously won’t). If they were to liquidate all their assets at that point, they could buy enough gold watches to wager on each gambling chip and still have one watch left over, a true dream.
The post received quite a bit of engagement on Reddit, where the comments took it surprisingly seriously. Most pointed out the problems with assuming equal exchange rates, especially in a world like Stardew Valley, where a banana pudding is worth more than a gold bar.
However, if you’re not into gold watches, you can find a better way to pass the time by experimenting with some of the best Stardew Valley mods. There’s one that gives the gnome a new town, one to deliver an ice cream van to the village, and even an Animal Crossing-themed mod.
