Roaming mods are a gift that just keeps on coming, letting you play BlueTwelve’s sci-fi platformer (or should I say catformer?) in the first person or even as a dog. But it is perhaps the most revolutionary of all, as it redefines the entire game by adding a new split-screen multiplayer mode.
Created by KangieDanie and available now on Nexus Mods, Stray’s split screen mode is still in its infancy, but it allows you to split your keyboard or add a second controller and play the cute cat simulator side by side. dude. There are a few bugs – the HUD is only visible to the first player and sometimes when changing levels the game can freeze, forcing you to go back to the main menu and reload – but otherwise it’s a very good first step. solid on the real Stray. multiplayer and create your own boring science game. If you want to try it out, you have to start by downloading the Unreal Engine mod loader. You also need a PAK file that separates your inputs into two different controllers; without it, you can still have two cats, but you will control both of them at the same time. After that, just grab the mod file and drag and drop it to the Stray files. KangieDanie gives full instructions along with all the relevant links and once you run it you just hit F9 in the middle of the game and you can add one more player; you can add up to four, although depending on the mod forums such as the number of players. blockages increase and visual problems can become more problematic.
Stray’s multiplayer is still a work in progress, but as people play and get feedback, it will definitely become more developed and stable. It makes sense: there can only be two cute cats better than one cute cat, so check out Nexus Mods and give it a try.
