Evil Dead: The Game has a new free roam mode, plus additional weapons, maps, and skins as the Army of Darkness DLC launches for multiplayer horror. We promise to read this article without using the word “excellent”.
Based on the 1992 medieval sequel where Ash yells “It’s my arrow!”, the Army of Darkness DLC adds a new location in the form of Kandar Castle, the stone-walled resting place of the dreaded Necronomicon. besieged in the movie by the undead army of the same name. It features a windmill, outpost, fort and fortress and is playable in all Evil Dead PvP and PvE modes.
Speaking of game modes, there’s a new one. Thanks to the free Army of Darkness DLC, if you’re feeling a bit drained or just want to breathe in a bit of the gory landscape, you can now take part in exploration, a new free roam. a mode that allows you to explore the game’s locations at your leisure and maybe get some practice in with some dead AI. Like Creative Assembly’s excellent Alien: Isolation, The Evil Dead recreates the filming locations in fanciful detail, and it’s nice to look around without worrying about Henrietta or Evil Ash trying to blow your skull off. .
There are also two new weapons: the slow-firing but highly lethal explosive crossbow and the melee mace, as well as several new skins available for purchase. Ash definitely looked cool in this armor, or maybe you prefer something more modern like his S-Mart uniform; any of these can be yours, sold separately from the free DLC. On top of that, there’s the Medieval Pack, which gives Henry the Red some Scottish-themed threads and decks out an army of necromancer demons in glittering gold.
