Fortnite Overshield gives you a nice buffer and basically acts like an extra 50 health that recharges when you’re not in the middle of a firefight with other players or someone like Darth Vader. Others may see it as a kind of charge, turning your opponents into bullet sponges and rendering snipers almost useless. But love it or hate it, it turns out the overshield could be getting stronger thanks to a new perk Epic could add.
old fortnite The director of HypeX tweeted that while the siphon was added to the secondary shield at the start of Season 3, it hasn’t been activated yet, suggesting that Epic could do so in a future update. This feature has great potential, mainly because it rewards players who enjoy engaging in a good firefight. But there are several bigger reasons why upgrading your shield will change the landscape of Fortnite, and we don’t mean geographically.
First, recharging your overshield if you kill someone means players will be encouraged to play more aggressively. Until you take more than 50 damage, killing another player is practically free. It also means that players won’t have to spend as much time hiding and healing, which will make matches more interesting for both those playing and those watching.

This would also be a potentially useful benefit when connecting to a third party. If you’re in the middle of a firefight and get hit somewhere else, being able to recharge your overshield at the end of the first fight gives you a much better chance against a rogue secondary player. We’re kidding, of course. There is no honor in Fortnite, only chaos.
Speaking of which, it looks like the Reality Tree is still a long way from messing up the map.
