V Rising Devs Consider Invading PvE Castles With Angry Mobs

It looks like V Rising Stunlock is gearing up to answer the age old question: is it really a vampire game if an angry mob doesn’t storm your doors? It looks like future V Rising updates will only include this, as the team is considering a proper PvE castle invasion.

Stunlock revealed a number of details about his plans leading up to the release of V Rising 1.0 from Early Access, including that “there are going to be some super exciting additions.” There is even talk of an ending and a possible return of Dracula in a Game of Thrones scenario.

Now, in a recent interview with streamers Asmongold and Rich Campbell, Stunlock explained how he plans to make the player’s castle more “central” to survival gameplay, “especially in PvE.” Right now your V Rising base looks more like a target for PvP attacks and the AI leaves you alone. However, that seems to be changing.

“Currently there is no PvE threat, there is nothing invading your castle,” confirms game director Peter Ilves. The team apparently plans to “have factions that can attack your castle and you have to fight back.” Specifically, Stunlock aims to “give PvE players the thrill of an invasion,” but must strike a “right balance” between AI attacks and PvP raids.

To that end, it also appears that Stunlock is planning to create a Dungeon Keeper or Evil Genius-style castle with “traps and tricks” to lure unsuspecting victims into his path “when they break down your walls.” V Rising Servants can also be upgraded to participate in the defense of your castle.

“C’est quelque chose avec lequel nous avons été un peu prudents”, added Ilves, “it seems that nous ne voulons pas qu’il (le château) becomes a bunker… I thought that the château would be the pièce maîtresse que nous chercherons to improve . and add more content to it.
