Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 kicks off on June 24 and introduces a new Battle Royale map, Fortune’s Keep. In the meantime, players will have the option to say goodbye to Spawn Island for a while with a new limited-time exfiltration mode available now.
During battles on Spawn Island, players will compete for possession of the radio, which they must keep until the end of the game; the last team with the radio will have to evacuate from Spawn to Fortune Keep. The limited time mode will only be available for the 3-player game and will last until June 22.
But that won’t be the last you see on Renaissance Island. Exfiltration mode marks a visual change from the current Warzone maps to the more colorful and almost pirate-themed Fortune’s Keep, but Rebirth and Caldera will remain playable throughout Season 4.
You will also be able to continue playing game modes other than Exfiltration in Rebirth until the end of Season 3.
All game modes (Respawn, Plunder, Battle Royale, and Champions) remain available for Caldera, with Rebirth expected to make a full return shortly after the launch of Season 4. Caldera, however, will see some changes starting in Season 4. .season as the Warehouse City landmark returns and the amount of foliage on screen is reduced to improve player visibility.
Fortune’s Keep will initially be available as a spawn map, though more modes are likely to be added in the new season. There are also several new weapons. The Macro 5 is a machine gun that can be used to fire from the hip for quick kills at close range. The UGM-8 is a powerful new light machine gun, and for melee enthusiasts, there’s a push dagger, a sinister-looking little knife held between the fingers.
Exfiltration adds an additional haunting layer to Warzone’s already rewarding battle royale gameplay, and it’s nice to see one of our favorite maps honored before the curtain rises on Fortune’s Keep. So log in and see if you can make it out of Rebirth Island alive.
