It’s a special day for fans of one of the best battle royale games on PC, as the long-awaited free-to-play version of Fall Guys has finally been released, but only on the Epic Games Store. Now, developer Mediatonic wants to assure fans that support for Fall Guys on Steam will continue, but the Steam version is no longer available on the store.
In May, Mediatonic confirmed the long-awaited news that its colorful multiplayer game would go completely free-to-play on June 21, which is already imminent. However, there are still some questions about Fall Guys on Steam that have lingered since Epic purchased Mediatonic in March 2021.
In a new post on the Fall Guys Steam page, Mediatonic confirms that the Steam version “will continue to receive full support and all the delicious updates coming to other platforms, including cross-play support and cross-progression,” the latest of which which Epic just added support for. . However, the Steam version will not be free and has now been completely pulled from the market.
That’s exactly what happened to Rocket League when it came out for free on the Epic Games Store, so it’s not much of a surprise. The good news is that Rocket League is still getting updates on Steam two years later, which should put Fall Guys fans on Steam at ease.
