Team Fortress 2’s new charity event for victims of the war in Ukraine shakes up the popular Mann vs. Machine, positioning players as an evil horde of robots hell-bent on blowing up the Red Base. If you’ve never played the popular cooperative FPS game mode, commonly known as MvM, it’s a survival game where you defend your base against a horde of robots while upgrading your character stats and abilities between rounds.
Now’s your chance to turn the tide with Operation Rewired Rampage, starting with June 17 – August 26, puts you in the shoes of the attacking robots. The goal is to head to the red base and plant a bomb in the hole in the yard, just like the enemy bots do in normal MvM. The event is hosted by the MvM community site Potato.tf and features “over 20 missions on 14 different maps.”
Operation Rewired Rampage is carried out for the benefit of the humanitarian organization Direct Relief, which currently supports the victims of the war in Ukraine. So far, the charity has already surpassed its initial goal of $10,000 and is currently approaching the $12,000 mark at the time of this writing.
