Call of Duty: Warzone, with all its perks, scopes, and grenade launchers, has a nearly endless supply of weaponry. But there is one, an annoyingly tacky little special, that is guaranteed to turn the brutal battle royale from fun to frustration in just a few clicks: the Semtex wand.
As well as being deadly, Semtex sticks to any surface it touches: if someone throws it at you, you can kiss the game goodbye, as you’re left with only one option: run towards the opponent, try to take them with you, or clap your hands. in circles while pressing buttons to try and rip off your character’s pants. It’s like the karma from Halo: Combat Evolved and those hours you spent laughing at the growls when you planted plasma grenades on them.
Fortunately, a new hack has just been discovered in Warzone that could make Semtex-related fatalities a thing of the past. All you need is your composure, some quick reflexes, and a riot shield.
Make sure you have a riot shield on your team, and when an opponent throws a Semtex at you, raise your shield and let the Semtex stick in front. Next, you need to quickly remove the Riot Shield from your inventory. The standard way is to tap on the tab to open your inventory, go to the riot shield and click on the deposit option, but that will obviously take too long. Instead, enter Warzone commands and you can bind a “dropped weapon” to its own dedicated key.
When you drop the shield, the Semtex Stick will fall off the shield and land on the ground. You don’t have time to escape, so that’s where reflexes come in: you have to quickly get your shield off the ground and back up to absorb Semtex’s blast in time. Lord Texugo, the intrepid Reddit user who discovered this hack, has provided a hands-on demo video and plenty of examples of how it works perfectly.
