Diablo 4 will have an in-game store, job posting confirms

Now it’s confirmed, perhaps unsurprisingly: Diablo 4’s in-game store will be there when the RPG finally launches. Activision Blizzard is currently hiring someone to run this “Diablo 4 in-game store” and the job listing also confirms that the publisher considers this to be a live service game.

Blizzard and its fans are currently celebrating the release of Diablo Immortal, the “biggest release” in the franchise’s history, but several fans have raised concerns about the in-game store and microtransactions. Released in some countries, and players recently discovered “hidden” legendary loot box crests.

Well, we don’t know exactly when Diablo IV will release, but we do know that the in-game store certainly will. According to a new job posting, Blizzard is looking for a Product Manager to oversee the “in-game store” for Diablo IV. This person would need “experience in a live gaming environment” and Blizzard considers the showcase to be “a key part of Diablo IV’s seasonal content strategy.”

The job announcement also confirms that there will be seasons in Diablo IV. Given the success of the Diablo III seasons, it’s no surprise at all, but those Diablo IV seasons will also see a new wave of new digital items for sale every time.

Not exactly surprising, but given the poor response to Diablo Immortal’s microtransactions and the disastrous launch of the Diablo III auction house, we hope that Blizzard will take good care of the Diablo IV digital store.
