The Intel Arc Alchemist A730M is expected to be a high-end gaming laptop GPU, but benchmarks put it on par with the Nvidia RTX 3050. Although the mobile chip was able to outperform the base graphics performance of the green team, it did not. seems to be able to do that. it beat the RTX 3060 in testing.
According to references provided by Weibo user Golden Pig Upgrade, Intel Arc Alchemist The A730M barely beats the RTX 3050 in games like F1 2020. Team Blue’s chip can hit 123fps at 1080p, just three frames faster than an Nvidia card at the same resolution. Unsurprisingly, this narrow win means the GPU can’t match the performance levels of the RTX 3060, resulting in a 10fps rip in Metro Exodus (via Videocardz).
It’s worth noting that while the leaked benchmarks indicate settings and resolution, it’s unclear whether Intel’s Dynamic Tuning Technology (DTT) is enabled. Ultimately this can hurt the A730M’s performance, but a high-end GPU struggling with existing low-end rivals is always a bad sign.
Intel’s Arc Alchemist laptops have been available since April, but the models listed are still marked “coming soon.” Leaked Golden Pig upgrade benchmarks may help explain why Blue Team chips still suffer from optimization issues.
Intel previously suggested launching a new GPU every year until 2025 if all goes well. However, the Arc Alchemist line currently lacks the ability to adequately counter current-gen rivals, meaning it likely won’t outperform even entry-level RTX 4000-series cards.
The blue team is also in trouble when it comes to the gaming laptop space, as Apple just announced its Nvidia DLSS scaling approach. While XeSS is poised to lend a helping hand to Arc Alchemist mobile chips, Apple’s MetalFX could be the first to go as Intel still has a firm release date for the scaler.
