Studio Hangar 13 had to be fired after the cancellation of a major project

A few weeks ago, we had speculation about Hangar 13 projects. According to Kotak, he will be working on a new Mafia, which should be a prequel. This was subsequently confirmed by insider Nick Speschal, who added that the game was supposed to take place in Sicily at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition, they say that another project is being created in the Czech branches, which should become a new part of the Top Spin tennis series. It is this information that is becoming increasingly credible, as well-known journalist Jason Schreier also confirmed it to Bloomberg on Thursday.

However, the main message that Schreier conveys is not so positive. According to him, this week the studio had to be fired. This was supposed to happen after the cancellation of another major projectwhich was to be named Mosaic. We officially learned last year that the Volt project, which cost Take-Two over $53 million, has also been cancelled.

The current dismissal at the meeting was supposed to be announced by the new head of the studio, Nick Baines. He replaced Hayden Blackman, who left the studio a few weeks ago. Baines reportedly promised that no further layoffs were planned and that all current employees would not have to worry about their position.

Schreier also provides the information I have already mentioned. Hangar 13 is said to be working on a new mafia codenamed “Nero” and a tennis game called “Hammer”.. The second project mentioned doesn’t state if it’s really Top Spin, but creating a new brand in the same genre probably wouldn’t make much sense from Take-Two’s perspective.

According to Kotaku magazine, Hangar 13 is also used as support studio. Some employees allegedly helped with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and are currently reportedly involved with Kerbal Space Program 2 and Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
