Saigon Buffalo’s MSI 2022 Rumble Stage race got off to an absolutely rocky start today with VCS rep going 0-2. Noted for their exciting and aggressive style of play, the team may have successfully completed the first round of this year’s tournament, but they are learning the hard way that the level at this stage of the competition is a turning point. greater than anything you have known before.

That said, Saigon Buffalo showed some solid moments throughout the day, especially against PSG Talon, where the game nearly turned the tide. It wouldn’t, as the PCS representative took the win. The loss of Evil Geniuses, meanwhile, was certainly a less flattering affair.

After the games, Saigon Buffalo young gunman Nguyễn ‘Shogun’ Văn Huy spoke to The Loadout about the team’s first games, who he learned the most from and what he thinks the team needs to do. do to bounce back.

Shogun, thank you very much for joining me today. Although we haven’t quite got the wins, I’d like to start by getting your thoughts on the games you played today and how you and the team performed.

“Personally, I feel very bad for our images, but we really had to learn a lot and we will try to correct our mistakes and come back stronger tomorrow.”

When thinking about lessons, what are some of the most important things you and your team have learned from MSI 2022 so far?

“I personally learned more about how to have a better lane level. As a team, we learned more about our macro organization and improved our understanding of playstyles in other regions.

Are there certain players you learned a lot from?

“I actually learned a lot from Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong both about his playing style and how he handles the laning phase.”

[Gumayusi’s] there are some very good tips [up his sleeve] earn a job

What are some of the things you learned from the Gumayusi way and general gameplay?

“So there are a few things I learned. The first is how to set up a battle in the 2v2 lane. The second is how you hold and switch positions during teamfights. Third, they have very good numbers. [up his sleeve] to get a job.

Speaking of money, you have two big games tomorrow against T1 and G2. What do you think the team should bring to claim victory?

“I think we’re going to try and surprise them with some really weird picks that are going to break their game.”

I can not wait to see them ! This is your first international competition and your career has grown so quickly – what does it mean to you to be here at MSI?

“I’m so grateful for this experience and I really want to play well and be welcomed by Korean fans and the international community.”

MSI’s bot lane pool is much bigger than in the regular season where we saw a lot of Aphelios and Jinx. What do you think of Botlane’s current goal?

“I feel like the current meta in the bot lane has a lot of champions to choose from – so I think that’s great. There are a lot of champions that can allow me to beat my opponents.

Going forward, patch 12.10 will increase the stamina of league champions. What do you think of 12.10 and what does it mean for botlanks?

“I personally feel like the new 12.10 meta won’t affect my position that much because as long as we can position ourselves well and keep doing damage, that’s fine.”

Last question: as you are now and with what you have learned so far, do you think you will win if you return to VCS and play GAM again in these spring finals?

“I have a feeling that we will be an even stronger team after this MSI. It will allow us to have a rematch against GAM where I think we will beat them.
