Via a report on some users that CharlieIntel shared on Twitter, we discovered a funny error in a translation on Twitter. Canadian back cover of the Xbox version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. The English phrase “best selling franchise on Xbox” has been translated into French with the phrase “best selling franchise on PlayStation”.
In practice, the word Xbox is replaced with the following word in the French version: play station. It certainly can’t be a translation error, as it doesn’t make sense for Xbox to be a PlayStation from English to French. This is most likely a simple typo made by the team that handled the Canadian cover of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
The mistake becomes very funny because of what has happened in this intervening period. Xbox, PlayStation and Call of Duty. The two companies are battling for acceptance and blocking, respectively, of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
One of the methods Sony uses to prevent capture is, How important is Call of Duty to PlayStation and how much damage it could do if Microsoft made the saga exclusive (after the pre-existing agreements between Sony and Activision were terminated, of course). It seems like a bad joke these days that Call of Duty was mistakenly stated on an Xbox box as the best-selling saga on PlayStation.
Open resetter, where the tweet was shared, “The corporate console war is on fire!” Ironic comments like vixolus by user don’t go to waste! or the angry user who wrote, “This is Phil’s way of keeping his promise to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation.” Even Macca’s comment: “Xbox will use this fact as a factor in favor of buying Activision. ‘Look, PlayStation has an advantage over us even in translations,’ and also, “Heck, Sony really makes money. from marketing agreements”.
